The Navy Veterans' Directorate aims to transform veteran welfare by unifying the functions of eight existing directorates into a single, streamlined body. This future initiative will enhance human resource management, improve service efficiency, and ensure comprehensive support for naval veterans. By consolidating welfare measures, optimizing service delivery and providing dedicated assistance, it will recognize veterans' sacrifices while fostering their continued engagement with the naval community. This directorate will serve as a central hub for policy implementation, benefits administration, and long-term well-being initiatives, ensuring that all naval veterans receive the recognition, care and support they deserve.
Every man and woman who has ever worn the uniform of our beloved Navy deserves respect, support and gratitude for being willing to risk their lives to defend the country's freedom and sovereignty. All who served in the BN have given up some of the best years of their lives. Thus, Navy will endeavor to provide necessary support and career advice to its retired personnel in all stages of their job search, receiving training for new job opportunities, returning to work with a service-attributed disability, starting their own business, etc. It may offer some job facilities to retired personnel, such as working in the BN schools, NKF companies, and various other projects. In addition, it will also assist in providing healthcare, housing, legal support, skill development and assistance for placement in the civil sector.
Retired officers and sailors are honored members, and the Navy needs to provide them with some services. In this connection, a separate Documentation Office and Project Implementation Cell will be established for retired officers and sailors in the RCRP name. This office will deal with the rehabilitation program of the retired personnel. In addition, it will assist them by providing healthcare, education, legal services, house loans, pension recovery services, human support and support to members with a disability, etc.
Furthermore, BN has developed a mobile application and a website specifically for veterans that will be readily available, providing access to various information and assisting all retired personnel. Through the BNRP mobile app and platforms like BDJobs, veterans can easily access a wide range of job openings, skill-building programs and professional networks. These digital tools offer a seamless, user-friendly interface that enables veterans to explore career options, access tailored training, and connect with employers who value their leadership, discipline, and problem-solving skills. The prospects for veterans are significantly enhanced by these platforms, providing quicker and more efficient access to the civilian job market, fostering career growth and cultivating a strong sense of community within the veteran workforce. Utilizing these resources, the BNRP paves a sustainable and promising path for veterans to build new careers while contributing to the nation's economic growth.
Often, retired sailors seek financial assistance, and the Navy tries to support them. But it is necessary to find a suitable solution. BN will take steps to build small industries with the required facilities so that retired personnel or their family members can be employed and mutually benefit from them.
Naval personnel who have participated in our Liberation War (OPERATION JACKPOT, OPERATION HOTPANT, amongst others) are the valiant sons of this nation. Recognizing their contribution, Navy has supported their house construction, grants healthcare, etc. A separate scheme will be developed to support their family members.
Job opportunities at various maritime organizations, such as Maritime University, Nou Kallyan Foundation, etc., may be arranged for retired officers and sailors on a priority basis.
