SCHOOL OF MARITIME WARFARE AND TACTICS (SMWT)

The School of Maritime Warfare and Tactics (SMWT) is the modern computer-simulator based training establishment of Bangladesh Navy located in BNS ISSA KHAN, Chattogram. The modern training facilities provide opportunity to develop, play and analyze multi forces three dimensional war games from strategic to operational level planning and execution in tactical level.

SMWT was commissioned on 27 May 2000. It offers simulator-based comprehensive training in various domains, including Action Speed Tactical Trainer (ASTT), Bridge operations, Sonar operations, Electronic Warfare (EW), and Gunnery Fire Control System.

The mission of SMWT is continuous evaluation and adaptation of training programs to meet the evolving demands of modern naval warfare. This organization engages in regular research to ensure training methodologies remain aligned with global advancements in naval warfare and tactics. SMWT is entrusted with conducting the prestigious Principal Warfare Officers Course. In addition to training officers and sailors of the Bangladesh Navy, this organization extends its expertise to international and joint services students throughout the year. SMWT’s diverse training curriculum also includes Warfare Package Course, Basic Warfare Course, EW Course, and practical training on advanced simulators. Overall, SMWT fosters excellence in naval warfare operations.
