Joint Exercise

Bangladesh Navy takes part in various joint exercises with Bangladesh Army and Bangladesh Air Force on a regular basis. Moreover, Bangladesh Navy also participates in various exercise with partner naval forces, focusing on enhancing interoperability and strengthening maritime security in the region.

Bangladesh Navy: An Active Partner to Maritime Cooperation

Bangladesh Navy consistently demonstrates its commitment to enhancing maritime cooperation through active participation in international naval events, exercises, and fleet reviews. These engagements highlight the Navy's operational capabilities and foster naval diplomacy, professional relationships, and mutual understanding among navies worldwide. International exercises such as MILAN, IMDEX, DIMDEX, LIMA, KOMODO, IFR, WPNS, and AMAN offer invaluable opportunities for the Navies to collaborate and share best practices. Bangladesh Navy plays a significant role in enhancing regional maritime cooperation through its regular and active engagement in these exercises and fleet reviews.

IONS

"Indian Ocean Naval Symposium' (IONS) 2016 brought together naval leaders, policymakers, and maritime experts worldwide to discuss and develop strategies for enhancing maritime security. Held in the capital city of Dhaka, the conference provided a platform for participants to engage in in-depth discussions of maritime issues relevant to the Indian Ocean region. The IONS aims to increase maritime cooperation among the navies of the littoral states of the Indian Ocean.

IFR-2022

In 2022, Bangladesh Navy hosted the first ever International Fleet Review (IFR) to fortify its commitment to international naval cooperation. Held at the picturesque city of Cox's Bazar, this prestigious gathering marked a significant milestone in Bangladesh's maritime history, showcasing the nation's dedication to fostering global naval partnerships and enhancing maritime security. The review provided a unique platform for participating countries to share best practices and engage in multinational dialogues on maritime security. Through this historic event, Bangladesh Navy demonstrated its readiness to engage with its maritime partners, promoting peace and security at sea.

CORPAT

Based on the existing bilateral ties, Naval forces of Bangladesh and India take joint initiatives to address the maritime security and safety related issues for safeguarding common prosperity and security interest. Amongst those, BN-IN Coordinated Patrol (CORPAT) and Exercise BONGOSAGAR are coordinated efforts and initiatives of both navies to deal with maritime issues. Apart from patrolling in the International Maritime Boundary Line, ships and aircraft from both the Navies also conduct various maritime exercises to improve interoperability.

IMMSAREX 2017

IMMSAREX 2017 was a significant milestone for Bangladesh Navy, demonstrating its growing stature in the international maritime community. The event also reinforced the country's commitment to regional peace and security. The exercise involved navies from various countries, demonstrating international cooperation and solidarity in maritime security.
