Planning for the project began on 17 May 1979. Land acquisition for the project began in 1982. This project was implemented to solve the residential problem of the Navy Officers and Sailors. The total number of 855 plots is allocated for Officers and Sailors. At present BN School and other construction work going on. Hopefully, BN School will start with 1-5 classes in January 2026.
DOHS (Defense Officers' Housing Scheme) in Bangladesh are well-planned, secure residential areas initially created for retired military personnel, though some have seen increasing commercial use. NOHS-Naval Officers Housing Society. It was established in May 2004. It is a housing project in Purbachal Dhaka. It is a residential facility project of 1000 plots for Officers of Bangladesh Navy to solve the residential problems. Plots are allocated time to time and organized by Welfare Directorate at Naval Headquarters.
